If you have not heard about Flea Style, it is this awesome Dallas-based company that brings together vendors selling one-of-a-kind, unique items into one marketplace.

A lot of times I get asked the question: Why?   Why are you doing this? Why handbags?

As we begin a new year and put 2016 behind us, I wanted to share a few highlights from last year:

When I made the exciting and scary decision to start my own handbag line, I knew I needed some sort of design education. I was 30 and was definitely not at a place in my life where I could put everything on hold and put myself through four years of school just to see what would happen.

When I turned 30, I did quite a bit of soul-searching and questioned what I was doing with my life, like many do when they hit a big milestone. I looked great on paper and enjoyed my work, but I still felt unfulfilled professionally and personally. Last summer, it was like a switch turned on. I was suddenly ready to forego everything—even my security—to purse one of my greatest dreams.
